Clock In & Clock Out

Track your working hours with the time clock.

Quick Clock In

Using the App

  1. Open Restaurant Revolution app
  2. Tap "Clock In" on the main screen
  3. Verify your identity (PIN, biometric, or badge)
  4. You're clocked in!

Using Voice

Say: "Hey Maximus, clock me in"

Using a Badge/Card

  1. Tap badge on time clock device
  2. Hear confirmation beep
  3. Screen shows "Clocked In"

Clock In Details

When you clock in, you may need to:

Select Your Role

If you have multiple roles:

  1. Select today's role (Server, Host, etc.)
  2. This affects your pay rate

Select Your Station/Section

If required:

  1. Choose your section (Patio, Bar, Main)
  2. Or auto-assigned by manager

Confirm Cash Drawer

If you're a cashier:

  1. Count your starting drawer
  2. Enter the amount
  3. Sign to confirm

Clock Out

Using the App

  1. Tap "Clock Out" on main screen
  2. Confirm: "End your shift?"
  3. Enter any required info (tips, tasks)
  4. You're clocked out!

Using Voice

Say: "Hey Maximus, clock me out"

End-of-Shift Tasks

Before clocking out, you may need to:

Viewing Your Shift

Current Shift Info

While clocked in, view:

  • Start time
  • Hours worked so far
  • Scheduled end time
  • Break time taken

How: Tap the clock icon or your profile.

Voice Check

Say: "Hey Maximus, what time did I clock in?"

Or: "How many hours have I worked today?"


Breaks

Starting a Break

  1. Tap "Start Break" (or say it)
  2. Select break type:
    • Paid break (10-15 min)
    • Unpaid meal break (30+ min)
  3. Break timer starts

Ending a Break

  1. Tap "End Break" (or say it)
  2. You return to active shift status

After clocking out, you'll see:

Corrections

Missed Clock In

If you forgot to clock in:

  1. Go to Time Clock section
  2. Tap "Request Adjustment"
  3. Enter correct start time
  4. Add note explaining
  5. Submit for manager approval

Missed Clock Out

If you forgot to clock out:

  1. Manager may auto-clock-out
  2. Or request adjustment the next day
  3. Your actual end time will be used

Wrong Role Selected

  1. Ask manager to correct
  2. Before payroll processing

Biometric Clock In

If your location uses biometric:

Fingerprint

  1. Place finger on scanner
  2. Wait for green light
  3. Clocked in!

Face ID

  1. Look at camera
  2. Wait for recognition
  3. Clocked in!

Troubleshooting Biometric

Multiple Locations

If you work at multiple locations:

  1. Clock in at the correct location
  2. Your hours are tracked separately
  3. View all shifts in your profile

Viewing Your Hours

Past Shifts

  1. Go to Time Clock section
  2. Tap "History"
  3. View past shifts and totals

Pay Period Summary

  1. Go to Time Clock
  2. Tap "Pay Period"
  3. See total hours for current period

Export/Print

  1. In History view
  2. Tap "Export"
  3. Choose date range
  4. Get PDF of your hours

Schedule vs. Actual

Your timecard shows:

Overtime

Hours over 40/week may be overtime:

  • System tracks automatically
  • You'll see OT hours separately
  • Manager is notified of approaching OT

Common Issues

"Already clocked in"

You may already be on the clock:

  1. Check if you're currently clocked in
  2. You can't clock in twice
  3. Clock out first if needed

"Outside work hours"

Your schedule may restrict clock-in times:

  1. You can only clock in near scheduled time
  2. Contact manager if you need to work outside schedule

"Location mismatch"

GPS shows you're not at the restaurant:

  1. Ensure location services are on
  2. Be inside the building
  3. Contact manager if GPS is wrong

Tips

  1. Clock in on time - Arriving early is great, but clock in at your scheduled time
  2. Always clock out - Don't forget or you'll need corrections
  3. Track your breaks - Required for compliance
  4. Check your hours - Review before payday
  5. Report issues early - Corrections are easier to fix right away
