Using the App

  1. Tap "Start Break"
  2. Select break type
  3. Timer starts

  2. You return to active status

Break Reminders

If you haven't taken your required break:

  • You'll receive a reminder notification
  • Manager may be notified
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws

Break Rules

Break rules vary by location and local law. Common requirements:

Missed Breaks

If you miss a required break:

  1. Take it as soon as possible
  2. Notify your manager
  3. May affect meal break waiver (if applicable)

Break Violations

What Triggers a Violation

Consequences

  • Manager notification

Manager Override

In certain situations, managers can:

  • Waive meal break (with your consent)
  • Extend break time
  • Adjust break timing
  • Excuse missed breaks

All overrides are logged for compliance.

Break History

View your break history:

  1. Go to Time Clock > History
  2. Tap any shift
  3. See break details:
    • Start/end times
    • Duration
    • Type (meal/rest)
    • Paid/unpaid status

Troubleshooting

Can't Start Break

  1. Verify you're clocked in
  2. Check if break already in progress
  3. Ensure you're not mid-transaction
  4. Contact manager if issue persists

Break Ended Automatically

  • Meal breaks auto-end at maximum time
  • Returns you to active status
  • Notifies you before ending

Break Time Wrong

  1. Note correct start/end times
  2. Tell your manager
  3. Manager can adjust in system

Best Practices

  1. Take all required breaks - Protect your rights
  2. Start on time - Don't wait until you're exhausted
  3. Fully disconnect - Step away from work area
  4. End when scheduled - Don't cut breaks short
  5. Communicate - Let team know when leaving
