Updating Stock Count
Count inventory at the same time each day for consistency. End-of-shift counts are most accurate since you know exactly what was used during service. Always add a note explaining what changed.
If you have permission:
- Open item details
- Tap "Update Count"
- Enter current count (or use +/- buttons)
- Add note (optional): "Received delivery" or "Physical count"
- Save
Low Stock Alerts
The system proactively alerts staff about low stock items.
Alert Locations
| Location | Alert Type |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Low stock widget shows items below threshold |
| Alert Bell | Badge shows number of low stock items |
| KDS | Warning icon on affected items |
| Manager App | Push notification for critical items |
Alert Levels
| Level | Threshold | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | Below low stock level | Monitor closely |
| Critical | Below reorder point | Consider 86'ing |
| Out | Zero stock | Auto-86 (if enabled) |
Dismissing Alerts
- Tap the Alert Bell icon
- View low stock alerts
- For each item:
- Acknowledge - Dismiss for this shift
- 86 Item - Mark unavailable immediately
- Restock - Update count if restocked
Modifier Availability
Modifiers can also be 86'd independently:
86 a Modifier
- Go to Menu > Modifiers
- Find the modifier (e.g., "Extra Cheese")
- Mark as unavailable
Effect on Orders
- Items with 86'd required modifiers show warning
- Optional modifiers simply don't appear
- Staff sees notification if adding item with 86'd modifier
End of Day Inventory
For locations doing daily inventory counts:
Quick Count
- Go to Manager > Inventory > Quick Count
- Count listed items
- Enter quantities
- Submit count
Variance Alerts
If count differs significantly from expected:
- System flags for manager review
- Possible causes: waste, theft, receiving errors
- Manager can approve or investigate
Common Scenarios
"We just ran out during service"
Say "Hey Maximus, 86 the salmon" to instantly mark an item unavailable. The system automatically hides it from customer apps, kiosks, and online ordering within seconds.
- Inform expo/manager
- Suggest alternatives to guests who ask
"Delivery just arrived"
- Go to receiving area
- Update stock counts for delivered items
- Restore any 86'd items that are back in stock
"Customer asking if item available"
- Check item on menu (green = yes, gray = no)
- If low stock, check with kitchen before promising
- Voice: "Hey Maximus, do we have fish tacos?"
"Manager wants to know what we're low on"
- Go to Dashboard > Low Stock widget
- Or Reports > Inventory > Low Stock Report
- Shows all items below threshold
