Menu Management

Edit items, prices, categories, and availability.

Quick Actions​

Accessing Menu Management​

  1. Log in as manager
  2. Go to Menu in navigation
  3. Or say "Hey Maximus, open menu management"

Editing Items​

Change Price​

  1. Find and tap the item
  2. Tap "Edit"
  3. Update the price
  4. Tap "Save"

86 an Item​

When something is unavailable:

  1. Find the item
  2. Toggle "Available" to OFF
  3. Item shows as 86'd to staff
  4. Or say "Hey Maximus, 86 the salmon"

Un-86 an Item​

When item is back in stock:

  1. Find the item
  2. Toggle "Available" to ON
  3. Or say "Hey Maximus, un-86 the salmon"

Modifiers​

Editing Modifier Options​

  1. Tap item
  2. Go to Modifiers tab
  3. Add/remove/edit options
  4. Set pricing for add-ons

Modifier Groups​

  • Required: Customer must select (e.g., temperature)
  • Optional: Customer may select (e.g., add-ons)

Daily Specials​

  1. Go to Specials section
  2. Add new special or edit existing
  3. Set start/end date
  4. Special appears prominently on menus

Categories​

Adding a Category​

  1. Go to Menu > Categories
  2. Tap Add Category
  3. Enter name (e.g., "Appetizers")
  4. Set display order
  5. Choose icon (optional)
  6. Tap Save

Reordering Categories​

  1. Tap Edit Order
  2. Drag categories to desired position
  3. Tap Save

Bulk Editing​

Update Multiple Items​

  1. Go to Menu > Bulk Edit
  2. Select items (checkboxes)
  3. Choose action:
    • Change availability
    • Adjust prices by percentage
    • Assign to category
  4. Apply changes

Import/Export​

Pricing Strategies​

Time-Based Pricing​

Set different prices for:

  • Happy Hour: Reduced prices 4-6pm
  • Brunch: Weekend brunch pricing
  • Late Night: After 10pm specials

Seasonal Items​

  1. Create item with date range
  2. Item auto-appears/hides based on dates
  3. Great for seasonal ingredients

Troubleshooting​

Changes Not Appearing​

  1. Check if changes were saved
  2. Verify you're viewing correct location
  3. Tap Sync to force refresh
  4. Restart app if needed

Item Won't 86​

  • Verify you have manager permissions
  • Check if item is part of active order
  • Try again after order completes

Price Changes Delayed​

  • Takes up to 30 seconds to sync
  • Check network connection
  • Manual sync: Menu > Sync Now

Best Practices​

  1. Review daily - Check 86'd items each morning
  2. Update prices off-peak - Avoid busy periods
  3. Test specials - Preview before publishing
  4. Backup regularly - Export menu weekly
  5. Train staff - Ensure servers know daily changes
