Clocking Out

End your shift cleanly with hours review and tip declaration.

How to Clock Out

Using the App

  1. Go to Time Clock from the dashboard or bottom nav
  2. Tap "Clock Out"
  3. Complete the clock-out checklist (see below)
  4. Confirm to finalize

Using Voice

Say: "Hey Maximus, clock me out"

You will still need to complete tip declaration on screen if required.


Clock-Out Checklist

Before your clock-out is recorded, the system may prompt you to:

  1. Declare tips (if applicable to your role)
  2. Close open tabs -- any tables or bar tabs still assigned to you
  3. Complete side work -- acknowledge assigned closing tasks
  4. Review hours -- confirm your shift summary is accurate

All checklist items must be addressed before clock-out completes.


Reviewing Your Hours

After tapping Clock Out, a shift summary appears:

If something looks wrong, tap "Report Issue" to flag it for your manager.


Tip Declaration

Tipped employees must declare cash tips at clock-out:

  1. The app shows credit card tips already recorded
  2. Enter your cash tips received during the shift
  3. Review the total declared amount
  4. Tap Confirm

Tip Declaration Rules

  • Declared tips are reported for tax purposes
  • Your restaurant may have a minimum declaration threshold
  • Tip pool contributions are calculated automatically
  • You can view tip history in Payments > Tips

Manager Approval

Certain clock-out situations require manager authorization:

How It Works

  1. You tap Clock Out
  2. The system detects the exception
  3. A notification is sent to the on-duty manager
  4. Manager approves or adjusts on their device
  5. You receive confirmation once approved

If no manager is available, the clock-out is recorded pending review.


After Clocking Out

Once clocked out:

  • You are logged out of active POS sessions
  • Open tables are reassigned or flagged for the manager
  • Your shift data is saved for payroll
  • You can still view your shift summary in Time Clock > History

Troubleshooting

Cannot Clock Out

  • Ensure all open tabs are closed or transferred
  • Complete any required side work acknowledgments
  • Check for pending break violations

Hours Look Wrong

  1. Note the discrepancy
  2. Tap Report Issue on the summary screen
  3. Your manager can adjust times in the admin panel

Manager Not Available for Approval

  • The system records your clock-out as pending
  • Your manager will be prompted to review next time they log in
  • Hours are not lost -- they are held until approved
