Updating Statusโ€‹

Manual Updateโ€‹

  1. Tap the table on floor plan
  2. Tap "Update Status"
  3. Select new status from list
  4. Status updates immediately

Quick Status (Long Press)โ€‹

  1. Long-press on a table
  2. Quick action buttons appear
  3. Tap the status color you want
  4. Status updates in one tap

Voice Commandsโ€‹

Some status changes happen automatically:

Enabling/Disabling Auto-Updatesโ€‹

Talk to your manager if automatic updates aren't working correctly or if you prefer manual control.


Status Detailsโ€‹

Available (Green)โ€‹

Table is ready for guests:

  • Clean and reset
  • All items in place
  • Water glasses filled (if your style)
  • Ready to seat immediately

Who updates: Busser after cleaning, or server

Seated (Blue)โ€‹

Guests have been seated:

  • Host has seated party
  • Menus provided
  • Server should greet soon

Who updates: Usually automatic when host seats, or server

Time alert: If over 10 minutes without order, check on table

Ordered (Yellow)โ€‹

Order has been sent:

  • Food order submitted to kitchen
  • Drinks may already be served
  • Guests waiting for food

Who updates: Automatic when order is sent

Time alert: Check kitchen if over 25 minutes

Served (Purple)โ€‹

Food has been delivered:

  • Main courses on table
  • Guests are eating
  • Check back after a few bites

Who updates: Server marks when delivering food, or automatic

Action needed: Check on guests within 2 minutes

Check (Orange)โ€‹

Payment pending:

  • Check has been presented
  • Guests reviewing
  • Payment expected soon

Who updates: Server after presenting check

Time alert: If over 10 minutes, check if they need anything

Dirty (Red)โ€‹

Needs cleaning:

  • Guests have left
  • Table needs clearing
  • Not ready for next guests

Who updates: Automatic after payment, or server

Priority: Bussers should address within 5 minutes

Reserved (Gray)โ€‹

Held for reservation:

  • Upcoming booking within 30-60 minutes
  • Should not be seated (walk-ins)
  • Host manages reservations

Who updates: System based on reservations

Blocked (Black)โ€‹

Temporarily unavailable:

  • Maintenance needed
  • Special event setup
  • Manager discretion

Multiple Table Managementโ€‹

Selecting Multiple Tablesโ€‹

  1. Tap first table
  2. Tap "Multi-Select" or hold and tap more
  3. Apply status to all selected
  4. Useful for section updates

Bulk Status Updateโ€‹

For end-of-shift or section reset:

  1. Enter Multi-Select mode
  2. Select all tables in section
  3. Tap "Mark Dirty" or "Mark Available"
  4. Confirm bulk update

Turn Time Optimizationโ€‹

What is Turn Time?โ€‹

Total time from Seated to Available for next guests.

Viewing Turn Timesโ€‹

  1. Tap a table
  2. View "Table Details"
  3. See current turn time
  4. Compare to averages

Special Situationsโ€‹

Walk-Outโ€‹

If guests leave without paying:

  1. Mark table as Dirty
  2. Immediately notify manager
  3. Keep any receipts/evidence
  4. Complete incident report

Guests Campingโ€‹

If guests staying very long after paying:

  1. Status stays at Dirty or custom "Camping"
  2. Communicate with manager
  3. Follow house policy for approach

Table Merge/Splitโ€‹

When combining or splitting tables:

  1. Update status for all involved tables
  2. Create new check for merged party
  3. Or split check for separated groups
