Table Sections
Manage your assigned section efficiently for better service and earnings.
Overview
Sections divide the restaurant floor into manageable areas:

| Main Dining | Primary indoor seating | 6-10 tables |
| Patio | Outdoor seating | 4-8 tables |
| Bar | Bar seating area | 6-12 seats |
| Private | Private dining rooms | 1-3 rooms |
| Lounge | Casual seating area | 4-6 tables |
Your section determines which tables you serve during your shift.
Your Section Assignment
How Sections Are Assigned
When you clock in:
- System checks the floor plan
- Manager has pre-assigned sections
- You're notified of your section
- Section appears on your Tables screen
Section Notification
You'll see your assignment:
- On clock-in confirmation screen
- In the Tables tab (your section highlighted)
- Via voice: "Hey Maximus, what's my section?"
Viewing Your Section
On the POS
- Go to Tables screen
- Your section is highlighted in color
- Tap section name to filter to only your tables

Section Features
At-a-Glance Information
Your section view shows:

| Status Colors | Current state of each table |
| Guest Count | Number seated at each table |
| Time Seated | How long guests have been there |
| Total Covers | Sum of all guests in your section |
| Open Checks | Number of active orders |

Working Multiple Sections
Sometimes you may cover multiple sections:
When This Happens
- Short-staffed shifts
- Server sent home early
- Covering breaks
- Training new staff
Managing Multiple Sections
- Toggle between sections using tabs
- Use "My Tables" filter to see all assigned
- Prioritize by time seated (longest first)
- Ask for help if overwhelmed
Tips for Multi-Section Success
- Keep moving efficiently between areas
- Don't forget any tables
- Communicate with kitchen about timing
- Ask host to pace seating
Section Changes
Requesting a Change
If you need to change sections:
- Talk to your manager
- Explain reason (personal, medical, preference)
- Manager makes decision
- If approved, system updates your assignment
Mid-Shift Section Changes
When you're reassigned during shift:
- Manager updates in system
- You receive notification
- Your open tables transfer with you (or stay, per policy)
- Introduce yourself to new guests if tables stayed
Order Transfer During Section Change

Section Rotation

- Different section each shift
- Opener gets section A, closer gets B

- High earners may rotate to slower sections

Tables Missing from Section
- Check if table was moved to another section
- Verify floor plan hasn't changed
