Voice-Guided Setup

Setting up a new restaurant system can be daunting. The NebusAI Voice Setup Wizard transforms complex configuration into a simple conversation. Instead of typing into form fields, you interact with the system naturally.

Launching the Wizard

When you launch the Restaurant Staff or Manager app for the first time on a new device, the Wizard initiates automatically if no configuration is detected.

  1. Permission: Grant Microphone access when prompted.
  2. Greeting: The AI (Maximus) will introduce itself and ask for your language preference.

How it Works

The wizard walks you through 4 stages. You can speak your answers or type them on the screen.

Stage 1: Business Profile

AI: "Welcome to Restaurant Revolution. What is the name of your establishment?" You: "Mario's Italian Bistro." AI: "Got it. And what type of cuisine do you serve?" You: "Authentic Italian and Pizza."

The AI automatically populates your Business Settings, categorizes your cuisine for SEO, and sets up default terminology (e.g., "Guest" vs "Customer").

Stage 2: Menu Import (Multi-Modal)

AI: "Do you have a menu ready? You can upload a PDF, take a photo, or paste a link."

  • Photo Upload: Point the iPad camera at your physical menu. The Schema Alignment Agent digitizes it instantly.
  • Voice Correction: If an item is wrong, just say "The Calamari is actually $14, not $12," and it fixes it.

Stage 3: Hardware Discovery

AI: "I'm scanning for printers and payment terminals... I found an Epson TM-88V and a generic card reader. Is that correct?"

The wizard uses local network discovery (MDNS/Bonjour) to find devices. You can confirm or rename them verbally ("Name the printer 'Bar Printer'").

Stage 4: Staff Roster

AI: "Who else needs access? You can list names and roles." You: "Add Sarah as a Manager and Mike as a Chef."

The system creates temporary PINs and invites them via SMS.

Resolving Exceptions

If the AI is unsure (e.g., duplicate menu items or unclear audio), it enters Exception Mode:

  1. It highlights the uncertain field in yellow.
  2. It asks a clarifying question: "I see two 'Caesar Salads'. Are they different sizes?"
  3. You can click to resolve or explain: "Yes, one is a side, one is an entrée."

Skipping Voice

If you are in a loud environment, you can tap the "Switch to Manual Mode" button at any time to use the standard keyboard form interface.
